5-Day Devotional: Knowing God Through Jesus

Day 1: The Way, The Truth, The Life

Reading: John 14:1-14

Devotional:

Jesus declares with absolute clarity: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This isn’t arrogance—it’s divine revelation. Jesus removes all confusion about who God is by showing us perfectly what the Father looks like. When you see Jesus healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and raising the dead, you’re seeing God’s heart toward you. Stop wondering what God is like—look at Jesus. He never made anyone sick, never withheld good things, never condemned the broken. Today, reject any image of God that doesn’t align with Jesus. If you’ve seen Him, you’ve seen the Father.

Reflection Question: What false ideas about God do I need to replace with the truth revealed in Jesus?

Day 2: Faith That Moves Mountains

Reading: Mark 11:20-25

Devotional:

Jesus cursed a fig tree, and it died—not because He hated figs, but to teach us about the power of faith-filled words. He then explains the principle: speak to your mountain without doubting, believe what you say will happen, and it will be done. This isn’t magic; it’s kingdom authority. Faith requires believing for something greater than you’ve currently experienced. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God because faith creates the opening for Him to work according to His Word. You speak the word; God does the work. Today, identify one “mountain” in your life and speak to it with unwavering faith, standing on God’s promises.

Reflection Question: What am I believing God for that’s beyond my current experience?

Day 3: Greater Works Through Believers

Reading: John 14:12-21

Devotional:

Jesus makes an astounding promise: “Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.” This isn’t hyperbole—it’s your calling. Jesus healed, delivered, and performed miracles, and He expects you to do the same through faith. How? You speak His Word, and the Father does the work. This glorifies God—when you step out in faith, you give Him opportunity to demonstrate His power. You’re not along for the ride; you’re an active participant in God’s will. The Holy Spirit lives in you to empower this reality. Stop underachieving spiritually. Believe everything Jesus said and step into the fullness He purchased for you.

Reflection Question: Who can I pray for today, believing for their miracle or breakthrough?

Day 4: God’s Will and Your Faith

Reading: Hebrews 11:1-6; Romans 10:17

Devotional:

God’s will doesn’t automatically happen in your life—you must actively participate through faith. Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, which is why Jesus taught constantly. He knew that as people heard truth, faith would rise. God is sovereign in that no one is above Him, but He doesn’t control every detail like a puppet master. He’s given you choice. His will is that none should perish, yet people perish daily. The difference? Faith and response. God is love, and love doesn’t force or manipulate. Today, immerse yourself in Scripture, let faith rise, and partner with God’s good will for your life.

Reflection Question: Am I actively studying God’s Word to build my faith, or am I passively waiting?

Day 5: Today Is the Day of Salvation

Reading: 2 Corinthians 6:1-2; Romans 10:9-13

Devotional:

Scripture declares that God has set aside a day called “today”—the day of salvation. If you’ve never made Jesus your Lord and Savior, or if you’ve been living as an “unbelieving believer,” today is your moment. Salvation is simple: confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. This is the first step on an incredible journey of faith. Beyond salvation, Jesus commands us to receive the Holy Spirit—power to be His witnesses and to walk in the miraculous. Don’t wait. Don’t delay. Today, commit fully to Jesus, receive His Spirit, and step into the abundant life He died to give you.

Reflection Question: Have I fully surrendered to Jesus as Lord, or am I holding back areas of my life?

Closing Prayer:

Father, thank You for revealing Yourself perfectly through Jesus. Increase my faith to believe Your Word completely and to see Your power manifest in my life. Help me to be an active participant in Your will, speaking life, healing, and breakthrough. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit and use me to demonstrate Your goodness to a hurting world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
