A Word from Pastor on Unbelief
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Unbelief will harden your heart to God, plain and simple. When we walk by sight rather then by faith we are walking in unbelief and will not receive what Christ has already provided for us by His Grace. Just like unbelief prevented the children of Israel from entering the Promise Land and taking possession of what God was providing them, our unbelief will very much prevent us from entering into and taking possession of what Grace has already provided.
Through self-effort a hardened heart will reject in full or in part the abundance of Grace God has provided for salvation, healing, deliverance and provision by not fully trusting in what Christ has provided through the Atonement. We need to stop trying to get God to do what he has already done. Any time we try to work for what Christ has already provided we are demonstrating unbelief and rejecting Grace. In doing so we are trying to add to the finished works of Christ.
When it comes to the finished works of Christ the only laboring we need to do is rest (Hebrews 4:11). It may take effort but we need to rest in and trust in what the Word of God says. We need to make every effort to trust our Lord Jesus and not our circumstance. We need to walk by faith not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Melissa and I are so excited to be part of a church like Victory Center where we come together to encourage one another in the Lord! Through praise and worship, testimonies, and preaching and studying the Word we want to build you up in your most holy faith empowering you to live a life of victory in Jesus!
