A Word from Pastor Rodger: Experience God’s Love

A Word from Pastor Rodger: Experience God’s Love

Experiencing God’s love is experiencing victory. When we are free to experience God’s unconditional love in our lives it results in us being able to experience the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:16-20) and the fullness of salvation. Jesus not only provided for our eternal salvation but for us to have an abundant life, saved, healed, delivered, and prospered (John 10:9-10)! The fullness of this great salvation in Christ is available by God’s grace through trusting in what Jesus had done (Ephesians 2:8).  Our faith (trust) in God’s goodness towards us and what Christ has done grows as our understanding of His love towards us grows (Galatians 5:6).

When you begin to understand how much God truly loves you it changes everything. You’ll stop doubting His desire to bless you.  God’s unmerited favor is not about what you’re doing for Him but what He has already done for you through the atonement of Christ, once for all time (Romans 6:8-11).

The key to being able to love is being able to receive Gods love (1 John 4:19). You can’t give what you don’t have. When we are able to love one another with God’s love it will testify to the whole who we are in Christ (John 13:34-35). The way we love each other inside the Church is the key to reaching those outside the Church. Let’s always remember the defining characteristic of a Christian is love and it’s God’s kindness that leads to repentance (Romans 2:3-4).

Our adversary the deceiver knows this is true, he’s read the Word (Luke 4:9-11)! He knows what Jesus said is true and is doing his very best to keep Christians from receiving God’s love for themselves.   He doesn’t want the church to rise up in love for one another and become the beacon to the lost. He wants to keep us focused on man-made religious traditions and doctrines that dilute the Word of God (Mark 7:13). If the deceiver can continue to get Christians to believe God’s love is conditionally based on how well we perform for Him, we will continue to conditionally love others based on how well we judge their performance.  It’s sad but true, Christians who are harsh and judgmental believe they are loving people the same way God loves them.

“If I [can] speak in tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love [that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as inspired by God’s love for and in us], I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal” (1 Corinthians 13:1, AMP).

Christians who use fear based evangelism are often loud and annoying. They drive more people away from Christ then they turn to Him.  Although escaping eternal damnation is an amazing benefit of salvation, hell should never be your primary evangelism tool. It’s easy to look around and see the need for Christ in any ones day to day life.  Salvation is not just about eternity, it’s about the love of Christ being released today. He wants to save, heal, deliver, and prosper today (Galatians 1:4)!

God is kind, he is not responsible for the death, sickness, disease, that is what the devil does (John 10:10), God wants us have an abundant life.

Some of the things I’ve heard fellow Christians give God credit for would get any of us locked up in prison or on trial for war crimes and genocide. God is not responsible for death, murder, rape, abortion, or any other evil thing (James 1:13-17). Let’s not call good evil and evil good(Isaiah 5:20). Let’s give credit where credit is due, God is good and the devil is bad.

God’s not the source of our problems, he is the answer to our problems!

God wants us to know and to experience His love. When we acknowledge His love for us as individuals, we will have the fullness of Him (Ephesians 3:18-19).

Our confidence in God’s love for us opens the door for blessings beyond what we can ask for or think of (Ephesians 3:20).

God has literally poured His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5)!

The Holy Spirit wants us to experience the love of God in a deeply personal way. We just need to get the barriers of bad doctrine and bad thinking out of the way and acknowledge the positive ministry of the Holy Spirit. Let the Holy Spirit bring God’s love to life in your heart and mind as you pray and meditate on the Word of God today!
